The admission commission will hold a meeting and examine all applications.
Have the right to be admitted:
- A1. The children of personnel employed by the European communities
- A2. The children formerly attending a European school
Where the number of applications is higher than the number of vacancies, applications concerning other children will be examined according to the following order of priority:
- B1. Children of personnel employed by European institutions and organisations other than community institutions (particularly Council of Europe) and international institutions;
- B2. Children of personnel employed by diplomatic and consular representations of member states in the European Union, European states which are not members of the Union and other states;
- B3. Children of family domiciled in Strasbourg or nearby on a non-permanent basis and for whom future schooling is envisaged in a schooling system other than the French system. Within this category, priority will be given to children whose one of the two parents is professionally involved in international activities, in a research or higher education organization or in business;
- B4. Children whose mother tongue, unique or shared, is a European language other than French;
- B5. Children whose family is planning to move within Europe or to whom the family intends to give an education in accordance with the spirit of European schools.
In each group, we will be taken in priority the brothers and sisters.
In categories B3 to B6, priority will be given to children domiciled in Strasbourg (i.e. Greater Strasbourg), in the Eurodistrict or nearby.
It should be stressed to families that the choice of language section should reflect the mother tongue or usual language spoken by the child. Where this mother tongue or usual language is not taught at the European school, a choice will have to be made among the three languages offered according to their importance for the family.
Meetings with families, or even language tests, may be organised for such pupils. The meeting may then lead to either a decision in favour of admission, possibly depending on the pupil following upgrading activities, or to admission refusal.
Admissions are to be decided by the Mme l'Inspectrice d'Académie du Bas-Rhin.
Further to the admission procedure, families may contact the European school secretary to complete the registration process:
