Magical… there is no other words to describe the project that culminated Tuesday night : a fruitful and wonderful partnership between l‘École Européenne de Strasbourg and the European Union Youth Orchestra in residence in Strasbourg to celebrate 50 years of existence.

The musician and the technical team arrived last week for a reharsal session at the school.

On Monday, musicians and composers lead workshops with the P5, the eco-reps, the secondary student band and choir.

The languages of the Union were mixed together to make music a common language : « United in Diversity » has never made more sense.

The eco-reps were able to exchange with the director of EUYO and the composers on how music can contribute to awarness on climate change.

The band and the choir worked in the afternoon with musicians and composers to understand the composing process of the Four Seasons with the climate change.

The culminating point of the day was the concert « The Four Seasons [Uncertain] », a shortened version of the one played last night at the Pavillon Joséphine : parts of the Vivaldi‘s masterpiece along with two modern pieces (Spring in Strasbourg 2050 composed by Annelies Van Parys and Autumn in Venice 2050 by Carmen Fizzarotti) under the direction of the amazing Hugo Ticciati.

The pupils of a GS/CP German-French class of the Public School Charles-Adolphe WURTZ (Ville et Eurométropole de Strasbourg) were also invited to the concert, concluding a class project on Vivaldi‘s opus.

Warmest thanks to the whole team of the EUYO and special thanks to the musicians who made us dream! 🙏
